BAMBURI SDA CHURCH PROFILE:

Bamburi SDA church was established in November 1995 after a evangelism campaign conducted by a team of missionaries from United Kingdom (UK) lead by Pastor Vincent Godard.It is situated 10km north of Mombsasa City center off Mombsas-Malindi Road.

Bamuri SDA Church belong to the family of Seventh Day Adventist Churches globally. Administratively it is under Kenya Coast Field which is headed by Executive Director currently held by Pr.Zacharia Marwa.

Pastor Oscar Osindo was then assigned to nurture the new church. Being evangelism oriented he took the opportunity to reach out to the Muslims and non-Muslims alike and soon Bamburi SDA Church became the Training Center for Adventist Muslim Relations missionaries.

The church now has a membership of over 800 people both registered and non-registered. With the support of the missionary team of Pastor Vincent Godard and Kenya Coast Field, Bamburi SDA church organized series of crusades and established the following additional churches.

In a span of 18 years Bamburi SDA Church has been able to establish Ten (10) churches. This translates to establishment of a church every two years.

Bamburi SDA Church is now forecusing its evangelism campaign to unentered territories. In the next two years 2014 and 2015, the church is planning major evangelical campaigns, in Kwale and Kilifi Counties.

The commission of Jesus Christ compels us to lead others to accept Jesus as their personal savior and to unite with His church, and nurture them in preparation for His soon return. From its inception, the church was intentional to articulate and practice its mission by communicating the message of the gospel throughout the world. The term "global mission" is synonymous with reaching the peoples of the world no matter where they are, and in the context of their lives. Adventists are a global community. Adventists are committed to making education accessible everywhere. At the heart of the Adventist education system is the conviction that every individual should have the opportunity to study and grow.

Adventists also believe that Christian life includes both spiritual and physical health, thus you will find Seventh-day Adventists involved in promotion of health and wholeness. Recognized as a growing church, Seventh-day Adventists are involved in providing betterment for all human beings and especially reaching out to provide practical help to those affected by disaster or those requiring development assistance.

"Do unto others . . ." is a phrase known to Seventh-day Adventists. In order to accomplish the mission goals of the Christian church, Adventists are promoters of human freedom and responsibility, especially emphasizing freedom of religion for all peoples.
